Learning mindfulness techniques can provide coping tools and skills to help you through all of life’s challenges!

Mindfulness may mean many things to different people. But, to keep it simple, it is any meditative practice focused on cultivating moment-to-moment, non-judgmental awareness.

According to Jon Kabat-Zinn, a famous mindfulness instructor, mindfulness meditation is “the awareness that arises from paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment and non-judgmentally”.

Mindfulness isn’t about “fixing you”, “stopping your thoughts”, or “escaping reality”.

Mindfulness is, simply, the ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us.

What are the benefits of mindfulness meditation? Mindfulness can;

Improve well-being
Improve physical health
Improve mental health

And, the best part is, the more we practice mindfulness, the better we become at being mindful!

All that is required is a little bit of time and the willingness to try it!
