Dialtecical Behavior Therapy Skills Training

Have you ever felt ‘out of control’?
Do you find yourself constantly feeling empty or isolated?
Do difficult emotions ever seem to ‘control you’?

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a psychotherapy that has been shown to be highly effective in addressing the needs or concerns of individuals who feel that managing strong or distressing emotions to be very difficult or, at times, nearly impossible.

DBT Skills Training group is focused on increasing an individual’s overall ability to self-regulate their emotions through the training of four specific sets of behavioral skills: Core Mindfulness Skills, Distress Tolerance Skills, Emotion Regulation Skills, and Interpersonal Effectiveness Skills.

Each group runs approximately 24 weeks and each meeting is facilitated by 1-2 licensed therapists. Each session is run as a class, where the therapist will teach skills within the session, and then assign between-session exercises (homework) that is necessary to help individuals apply the skills in their everyday experience.
