Agnes McCarthy is a graduate of Northeastern Illinois University with a Master’s Degree in Community Counseling. She is currently a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois.
For the past 10 years Agnes has worked as a crisis counselor with children and adolescents as well as their families in a variety of settings including school and home. She has experience with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, behavioral problems, anger management, eating issues, self image, self injury and social skills. Agnes also has experience with crisis intervention including hospitalization and safety planning.
Agnes has been described as a compassionate, easy to talk to, and encouraging counselor. Her passion is helping others reach their goals and their potential so that they may lead their best life. She does this by creating a safe space, having a non-judgemental attitude, and collaborating with the clients on developing coping skills as well as empowering them to make the necessary changes.
Agnes was born in Poland but has lived the majority of her life in Chicago. She is fluent in Polish.
