Kathleen Kenney is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Certificate in Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counseling. She is a graduate of Judson College and Aurora University where she received her master’s degree in social work. She is an active member of the National Association of Social Workers.
Kathleen uses a strengths-based perspective while working with her clients as a way to frame their experiences in the most positive way possible. She believes everyone can derive something positive from every experience and empowers people to have the best life possible.
She enjoys working with a variety of clients including seniors, men, women and children as they confront adjustment difficulties, divorce, death, illness, domestic violence, sexual abuse, codependency, self-esteem and substance use/dependency issues. She has experience facilitating various groups encouraging and engaging clients in activities that instill meaning and purpose.
Kathleen believes everyone is creative and resilient and sometimes we need help discovering those qualities in ourselves. She utilizes client-centered therapy, CBT techniques and positive affirmations.
