Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling
Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
Evone ‘Voni’ Coombs is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. She is a graduate of Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Science Degree in Counseling from National Louis University. She has many years of experience in treating mood disorders, psychosis, anxiety, and trauma and the intertwining nuances as one impacts another. She has worked closely with individuals and families who have experienced fresh traumatic events and with those whose traumatic loss has been a lifetime struggle.
Voni uses a strength based therapeutic approach. Various modalities based upon client personal preferences and personalities can be used. These include cognitive behavioral therapy, compassion focused therapy and other methods that can enhance love and respect for self and others. This approach is appropriate in individual, family and group settings. Voni is very excited to have discovered the success of EMDR as a tool for processing trauma, anxiety, depression and other challenges.
On a personal level she relishes in playing in the dirt of her own home garden as well as dusting off to sit in rapt attention to a Shakespearean play. Favorite place? A high mountain meadow atop a rambling horse taking in the smells and sights of wildflowers and towering cliffs. Having grandchildren has led to new adventures such as Kayaking down the Snake River or running in a stilt race. Always a new and frightening experience seeing life through the eyes of the young. A person can never learn enough.
Voni brings years of experience and a great love of life, learning and people to Barrington Behavioral Health and Wellness.
