Dr. Franger is a graduate of The Chicago School of Professional Psychology with specialization in health psychology. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology, rehabilitation, and behavioral medicine and pursued a specialty credential in rehabilitation through the American Board of Professional Psychology.
For the past 15 years, she has worked with individuals and families coping with a wide range of medical issues, disability, and grief both in private practice and hospital settings. She has extensive experience in neuropsychological evaluations and cognitive rehabilitation with children and adults (including dementia and organ transplant evaluations). Additionally, she has consulted with school systems and legal professionals, provided instruction to local law enforcement agencies, and was an active board member for Wired4Life, an organization supporting women with implanted cardiac devices.
Dr. Franger is highly skilled in the areas of medical adjustment, pain management (including medication dependence), sleep enhancement, weight management, healthy lifestyle development, intimacy/sexual functioning after disability, and parenting issues (including parenting special needs children, parenting with a disability, or caregiving to an ill parent). While sometimes bad things happen to good people, the good news is that you do not have to go it alone!
