Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor
Donald is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor who spent ten years honing his skills in inpatient therapeutic settings, before he branched out to develop programs for the department of corrections. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois-Chicago masters program. Since 1997, Donald has worked with students, families and schools to develop and implement support, mediation and advocacy programs. He found program development to be extremely gratifying because of the vast number of staff and students that benefit. He is also a strong advocate for families and children with disabilities.
Donald brings 35 years of experience to the client/therapist relationship. He specializes in working with adolescents, young adults and families who are experiencing communication and substance abuse issues. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, he strives to assist his clients to discover patterns that impede their true desires by accessing their hidden strengths, empowering them to rethink behaviors and the way they view problems. His desire for all of his clients is to help them to develop increased emotional intelligence and growth toward resiliency.
