Amy Schuring is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has worked in the field since 2007. Amy has worked in a variety of settings including community, schools, hospitals and private practices. She received her Master’s degree in 2007 from National Louis University.
Amy has extensive experience working with children, adolescents and adults with mental health and substance abuse issues. The approach she uses to treatment is built on the foundation of a strong and respectful relationship between the client and counselor. She finds that because each person is a unique individual, each treatment approach will be tailored to the specific needs of the person she serves. Common modalities of therapeutic interventions include DBT, CBT, and trauma informed therapy.
Amy truly enjoys helping her clients find freedom from pain and disappointment. She desires to help each client overcome the obstacles they face to live a life of freedom. Amy especially enjoys premarital, marriage, family, and blended family counseling to promote the success of restoring broken relationships within the family unit. Amy also loves working with children to help them overcome difficulties at home and in school.
